Pumpkin Patch

Last night we took our annual trip to Purdums Pumpkin Patch in Fruitland. There is a hay wagon ride that takes you out to the pumkin patch. As we were riding Avi was calling the pumpkins "apples" in her sweet little voice. We corrected her and told her they were pumpkins and now she is saying pumpkin in her cute little voice as well. The girls had fun running around looking at all the pumkins. There were some pretty big ones out there. Avi found a small one just her size. Last year we went alot later in the year so there wasn't much to choose from. This year there were still pumkins everywhere. I had to remind Mal not to jump on or kick the pumkins. She thought it was a big playground. From the time Avi picked up her first little pumkin she wanted to be holding one all the time. You didn't want to be the one to take it away. Hailey's experience at the pumkin patch was short!!!

It isn't too long of a hay ride from the fruit stand, but when Hailey decided she needed to go to the bathroom shortly after we got out there, it seemed really far as we were running back to the fruit stand to find a bathroom. Luckily we made it in time! By the time we ran to the bathroom, the wagon was on its way back so we just waited. Even though the hayride and picking your own pumkin is fun. Our favorite part of the trip is looking in the "CRAZY SQUASH BIN" as Lee calls it. When we went last year, we found a bin with crazy looking squash. The girls were trying to decide what each of them looks like. Before we even left the house last night Hailey mentioned she was excited to got to the crazy squash bin. I didn't get a picture of any of the crazy squash but I am learning quickly that I need to be taking more and better pictures. Next year there will be a picture to go along with it. It is fun to have these annual trips. It is hard with Lee's football schedule and the girls having to go to bed early for school the next day but luckily we have been able to schedule it in. Lee had a short practice and there is no school today so the girls didn't have to go to bed early. We look forward to going again next year.
