Pumpkin Patch Field Trips

Malerie and Jordan

This year we have had alot of different trips to get pumpkins. We made our family trip, Malerie just had her Kindergarten class field trip and Avi with our play group.

I met Malerie's class at Gwen and Jeremy Petersons house. They planted a pumpkin patch a few years ago when their son was in Kindergarten with Hailey. Now they are continuing to do it for the Kindergarteners so Malerie gets to go as well. They have a hay ride with REAL horses. It is pretty fun. Going through the fields there were a few times it was a pretty bumpy ride. It is always fun to see the kids run and look at all the pumpkins. There was one little boy named John that wanted a really big pumpkin. He had a hard time carrying it but he did it. Malerie has a really good teacher and fun kids in her class. She has made friends with so many of them. It is fun to see your children make friends. Everyone picked their pumpkin then we got back on the wagon to go get some pumpkin pie. The Peterson's have pie and apple juice for the kids after they get their pumpkins. The kids ate and then ran all over the place while they were waiting for the other Kindergarten class to come back to get on the bus. Mrs. Zagaris tried to start a game of duck, duck, goose, but the kids started running from a bee an it was all over. She asked them if they just wanted to run and everyone of them said "YES". So, the rest of the time the kids just ran on the nice big lawn. My favorite picture is the one of Mal eating her pumpkin pie with her hands. It was pretty funny.

Eating Pumpkin Pie

We have a playgroup that meets at the church once a week. I have only been once and then I went again today for the field trip to the pumpkin patch. There has been a good turn out for the play group so far. Hopefully I can make it there more often. All the little ones not in school yet are invited. Quite a few of them are close to Avi's age. We had a good time at the pumpkin patch. Avi has quickly learned the difference between a pumpkin and an apple. The other moms thought it was sooooooooooo cute that she kept saying, "Punkins Mom". She said it alot. In this picture she was right in the middle of saying it.

For how many kids under the age of 5 that were there, it wasn't crazy at all. Everyone got there pumpkins, sat on the straw for what we consider a group shot and then we all headed home. I believe this was our last pumpkin trip this year.
